The original · JAI-01

It all started with a hand.

Jai Five started as a giveaway to promote an app. People asked for it so often that it turned into a brand. It’s a hamsa with chai in the middle, spelled “jai,” which sounds like high. In other words: a high five, with soul.

01 Hamsa
A five-fingered hand. Its name comes from the word for “five.” It protects, it waves hello, and it sticks wherever you want.
02 Jai חי
Life. “Jai” is how חי (chai) is spelled in Spanish, and it sounds like high. Latino Jews get it. So does everyone else.
03 High five
The hand is already up. Go ahead, slap it. The drawing is the joke.

In real lifeStick it anywhere. It still stands out.

Materials

They stick hard. They outlast the latest fight in the family group chat.

Holographic vinyl

It shifts color in the light, like the candles on the menorah. You can’t see it in a photo. You will in your hand.

Die-cut to the edge

A 3 mm (⅛ in) white border that follows the shape of the hamsa. No awkward squares with weird corners.

Waterproof

Water bottles, the dishwasher, Santiago rain and the tears at every bar mitzvah speech. It holds up.

Designed in Chile

Dreamed up at the Shabbat table and tested on bubbe. If she laughs, it gets printed.

Hanukkah · 8 nights

Eight nights, eight little gifts.

A sticker a night is a plan. A pack is a better plan. And the card? You write it. We bring the joke.

Manifesto

We laugh with each other. Never at anyone.

  1. 01

    From the inside

If you live a Jewish life, you get the joke right away. If you don’t, you still laugh. Nobody ends up as the punchline.

  2. 02

    The Shabbat table test

If bubbe and her 16-year-old grandson both laugh, it’s in. If anyone at the table gets hurt, it’s out. That simple.

  3. 03

    Reinvented, not translated

Our puns are born in Spanish, in Chile. In English we don’t translate them; we reinvent them. The ones that only work in Spanish stay that way, as a Spanish edition.
